The journey to the priesthood often begins with a quiet inner prompting \u2014 a sense that God is calling. The Seminary of John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs is a place where that call can be prayerfully explored. More than just a school, the seminary is both a house of discernment<\/strong> <\/b>and a house of formation<\/strong><\/b>. Here, men listen to the Holy Spirit and grow in the conviction that they are being called to serve. At the same time, they are formed in four essential areas: human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral<\/strong> \u2014<\/b> becoming more like Christ, the Good Shepherd. Men who feel called are encouraged to contact the Vocations Director, Fr. Kenwyn Sylvester<\/strong>.<\/b> After a time of prayer and personal conversation, candidates may enter the Propaedeutic House<\/strong> at the Parish of St. Joseph for a nine-month period of preparation. This stage includes Scripture study, sacramental life, community prayer, and parish ministry \u2014 helping the man deepen his discernment and readiness. At the end of this period, and following a psychological evaluation, he may formally apply to the seminary. The call to priesthood is ultimately God\u2019s work \u2014 a journey guided by the Spirit, rooted in Christ, and lived for others. Those who follow it offer their lives as a gift of love in service to the Church.
